Original Slick - Starboard

I've been mucking about with this colour, Slick, that I first made in 2015. This is the first batch...

Batch one is darker, almost black, with obvious undertones of pinky purple, and a few less obvious flashes of blue, green, and the very odd muted yellow in some skeins. When knit up, it will read as mainly black, with purpler undertones, and the occasional bit of something else. In artificial light at night, it will read as almost black. There are no light patches - any in photos is the light reflecting off the silk fibres.

The third picture is very over exposed so you can see a bit more of the underlying tones. And just for fun, there's a pic of before it got its black overcoat.

(This is a very saturated colourway. I have washed it and the rinse water is clear. If you are planning to knit this with a light colour, I would recommend knitting a small test swatch with all the colours you're using, and wash and block in the usual way. Cold water and a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid is a good bet!)

Shiny and silky, starboard is a single ply yarn, perfect for luxurious accessories. (Starboard may look a little kinky in the skein, rest assured it lies flat and smooth when knitted up!)
