…Then we passed through the Arthur Kill, the industrial waterway at the back of Staten Island. And we stopped for a short while, as we always do, at the graveyard of ships.

Arthur Kill was first made for a NY friend – deepest inky navy blue, leaning slightly towards indigo. These skeins are more variegated than standard batches.

(This is a very saturated colourway. I have washed it and the rinse water is clear. However, as water and washing method may vary,  if you're planning on using with a lighter colour, I would recommend knitting a small test swatch with all the colours you're using, and wash and block in the usual way. Cold water and a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid is a good bet!)

Urchin is smooth and plump – a softly spun three ply construction. The lurex is spun in as an extra ply, (different from the stellina yarns available). It’s great for garments and accessories. While it has nylon content, I'm not yet sure about its durability for socks. As soon as I have more information, I'll update here!
